I ordered this usb wifi dongle several months ago mainly for the price. I just connected it for the first time today after my latest Linux kernel upgrade from Ubuntu broke the rt73usb driver that my old wifi card used. I plugged it in and before compiling the drivers that came with it decided just to try it and not only does it work right out of the package, it blows away my old wifi card. I am running it under Ubuntu 10.10

Well, it died today, back to wired Ethernet until I find another. Am going to try to return it for another with Amazon, we'll see.

Bought the Ultra Compact Mini USB 2.0 Wireless N 802.11n/g WiFi Newtork Dongle Adapter because I broke a larger Medialink adapter while sticking out the side of my Sony Vaio. As usual Amazon shipping better than expected, received next day on Prime. Packaging was fine.
Installed drivers with included mini-CDROM, plugged the adapter into my laptop and connected to my Rosewill N wireless router right away. Says it is connected at 65Mbps, but haven't done a speed test yet. Entire process took about 3 minutes, couldn't ask for more.
Will come back and update in future if problems ensue. At less than $10.00 shipped, very happy so far.

I bought this to upgrade the speed of my HP laptop to 150 in conjunction with my new Apple Extreme dual-band wireless-N router. Since all my other devices will run 300-- and I'm running @ 30mbs--I figure the weakest link needed to be upgraded.
This works fine for about 10-15 minutes and then boots the Apple Extreme off line. I unplug it; let it rest for 30 secs; plug it back in and we're on our way. Quite annoying since the extreme is at the far end of the house.
This ONLY happens when the HP Laptop is on. I can be running 7 other devices for hours on end, but when I fire up the laptop using this dongle, it's time to get the running shoes on.
Now, there might be a setting in which the Apple will acquiesce to the HP's peculiarity(ies). If so, I'll repost and up the rating.
It's not a uniquely bad item, it's just not good.
Also, if anyone knows a fix, PLEASE reply. Thanks
